  • Engraw's Growers: Meet Jorge Burutarán

From the countryside I love everything

Genuine love for the countryside way of life and all its animals is what most characterizes grower Jorge Burutaran.
La Invernada is the name of the establishment runned by him, which belonged to his family. It is located in Artigas, the northernmost department of the territory. It limits with Brazil to the north and northeast and to the west with Argentina.
Jorge manages a flock of 2.600 sheep in 2.658 acres of land. Being that he loves horses more than anything, he only travels through out the farm by horseback, avoiding negative impact to the environment. La Invernada is RWS, GOTS and Origen certified.
For us it is a pleasure to work alongside him and to process such a cared for wool!
